Northwest Corner Cell Method ( Transportation Problem )

Northwest Corner Cell Method ( Transportation Problem ) :-

This Method is used to find the Initial Feasible solution of the transportation problem.

Algorithm For solving the Transportation Problem by Northwest corner cell method is  as following :-

STEP 1. Check the Problem is Balanced or not, if balanced go to STEP 2, if it is not balanced the balance it by making a dummy (imaginary) row or column whatever needed.  

STEP 1. Start from the North-west (N-W) corner always 

STEP 2. Allocate the least value by Comparing Demand & Supply.

STEP 3. Repeat the STEP 1 & STEP 2 again until all the cells of the matrix is completed.
